44th Annual American Country Music Awards Red Carpet

No one does glitzy and beaded glamour better than Country music, and this year was no exception at the 44th Annual CMA Awards held yesterday in Las Vegas. Curiously most country singers are blondes, with some gorgeous brunettes and a handful of redheads thrown in. Our stellar redhead and Country legend Reba McEntire looked pretty and a tad young for her 50+ years ( oh botox what a wonder you continue to be...) in a purple gown, but why oh why did you have to wear David's Bridal-esque satin???

Eye-catching gowns of the evening included Nicole Kidman's L'Wren Scott's super body-hugging beaded backless column dress, which reminded me of something I secretly squeezed into in a back fitting room of Macy's during my highschool days while I giggled and took photos with friends during prom season. Carrie Underwood's gargantuan stage performance dress by Rafael Cennamo looked like she accidentally stepped on an oversized red velvet cake. Taylor Swift looked fire engine gorgeous and very grown up in a red Angel Sanchez dress, while her BFF Kellie Pickler sparkled in a too-tight-I'm -pretending-to-breathe- pale gold beaded dress by Zuhair Murad. I have no idea what Jennifer Love Hewitt and her boyfriend were doing there, but Julianne Hough looked like a Madame Tussaud's replica of Kellie Pickler in a very similar dark gold beaded Zuhair Murad gown, but unfortunately for her she had a wardrobe malfunction, so there's the difference.
