When I love a collection you can tell right away. I'm it's cheerleader, I'm effervescent, effusive, ebullient, bubbly about all the looks I see on the runway! Thing is I'm just not loving Karl Lagerfeld's latest for CHANEL Haute Couture. Sure the finely stitched wool suits are classic, and a few of the dresses are wow, but maybe it has to do with those pointed slouch boots paired with every look. UGH!!!
Karl Lagerfeld's extensive CHANEL runway, nestled within the not too shabby Grand Palais, featured over 80 gorgeous looks ranging from gauzy dresses covered in huge kaleidoscopic flowers, distressed wool tweed suits covered in fashionable moth holes and frayed edges, a divine slew of feathery black cocktail dresses, and one spectacular French appearance by quintessentially chic former CHANEL model Ines De La Fressange. This collection is incredible and most of the looks are stunning, except for the SHOES. Those ugly, unattractive flat-bottomed platform sandals almost ruin every look, and make even stick-thin models look fat! What on earth would Coco say???
