let them eat kate

Not all that long ago, Kate Moss lost her £ 500,000 deal with Agent Provocteur. The reason why she was dropped by the sultry, sexy lingerie brand? They have found another model by the name of Alice Dellal. And she is only 20. Being a model is tough shit. But these ads for Agent Provocateur below are even tougher. Honestly, I can't understand why AP has dropped her. But there is a reason for everything, isn't there? So let them eat Kate for now, but she'll come back and bite them back ten times harder as she always does...

just wait and see...

oh the warm feeling as I sat by you...

I was probably not the only one who was very delighted to hear back in April that Louis Vuitton had sealed the deal with both Francis Ford and Sofia Coppola to be in their next line of ads. And finally...here is the lovely result..

I did not expect at all that the ad would turn out like this. Isn't it beautiful? It's not the typical glossy, glamorous ad that LV usually comes up with (though they are very fabulous too!) It's just like looking at a photograph of any ordinary father and his daughter. They are talking about this and that, and just enjoying each others company with no cares in the world. This is one of those perfect moments. I absolutely adore this photo because I get such warm, caring feelings inside me every time I look at it. It's definitely going down in the book as one of my favourite LV ads.

So Ya Gotta Hang On 'Til Tomorrow (but don't worry, you've got Kate!)

Tomorrow I will be posting another interview, and this time it will be with the lovely Coco, creator behind the blog "Coco's Teaparty". Meanwhile, take a look at these YSL ads for SS08 featuring Kate Moss (though I'm absolutely sure you have taken a peak or two before !) What do you think? Has our Kate still got it?

The New Balenciaga Ads; A Floral Hit Or A Floral Miss?

Yep, just as you might have guessed, Jennifer Connelly has been chosen to represent Balenciaga for the Spring/Summer 2008 collection. A très bien choice? Or a très bad, do you think?

The extremely talented Nicholas Ghesquière has exclaimed the beautiful actress as this seasons "current muse" with the statement: "She was the inspiration for the show. I had
this vision of her. Her beauty and her character are so inspiring".

The beauty shines through immensely, but unfortunately, the inspiration and character that Ghesquière refers to doesn't show in these ads. The pictures, taken by none other than David Sims, are extremely pretty in themselves, but they don't ooze that extra something-something.

A big give-away that Jennifer Connelly would become Balenciaga's new face was when she wore one of the Balenciaga floral dresses to the L.A. premiere of her film "Reservation Road". Nobody could really agree whether this outfit was "a yay or a nay", "hot or not", "a fashion clown or a fashion icon". In my opinion, too much is going on. The shoes and the dress would have looked very good separate,..but together..well, erm, a big thumbs down. Connelly looks like a little girl who has gone for a combo inspired by the girl next door/ her grandmother/ someone who doesn't know what they're doing.

Please do not get me wrong..I LOVE Balenciaga and there probably isn't a piece of clothing that he has made that I hate. It's just that sometimes people wear it wrong.

And by the way, remember those interviews...soon to appear !!
