Bing Bang, It's Almost My Birthday!

($72, Bing Bang By Anna Sheffield, Oaknyc.com)

My next birthday was exactly eight months ago this past Tuesday! And this charming little lacquered Bing Bang arrowhead bracelet (I'd probably refashion it into a necklace using my pidgin jewelry-making skills) is the PERFECT gift for if you want to celebrate my eighth month of this year, you know? It'd be the perfect companion piece to my hot pink metal Alexis Bittar pendant. We don't want that to get lonely, do we?

Temperley's Holy Trinity

Just when I think I couldn't possibly love Temperley London any more than I do, I realize I actually could love Temperley even more.

I've impulse-purchased far too many gifts for myself (though, lest you think I'm a selfish asshole, I've bought some pretty ruling presents for my friends and family... HURRY UP, USPS!), so this Temperley Trinity bracelet isn't even an option, but if I were still in the market for some me-presents, this would make the cut:
($145, Temperley London, Temperleylondon.com)
It matches the Temperley Trinity Messenger Bag, which appears to be highly sold out.
($950, Temperley, Temperleylondon.com)

... But lust begets lust, so feel free to channel your unrequited love of Temperley's Trinity bag into the Royal Messenger bag:
($895, Temperley, TemperleyLondon.com)

Let The Wild Rumpus STOP!

Listen up: No more animal bandz or whatever the hell they're called on adults. Especially adult MEN. Especially-especially adult HIPSTER men. This is intolerable:

This guy was also wearing black boat shoes (hot) and a nice suit. And some sort of bowling/flight bag hybrid that I admired. Ditch the animal bandz, dude!

++ COUNTERPOINT/ TAMAR: Dude, I LOVE them! And they're called SILLY BANDZ. Because they're SILLY. I agree that guys, unless they're in a band whose t-shirts are sold at Hot Topic, shouldn't wear them. But for girls of any and all ages, it's OPEN SEASON.

This Disney Tron Merch IS THE FUTURE!

I'm gonna pat myself on the back as I proudly admit that I'm pretty much TOO YOUNG to remember "Tron." AHEM! Yay, me! I only really know that it was the past's creepy concept of the future, and because there was no Internet, I guess everyone believed it, and what happens in the movie is  a computer named HAL kills everybody, including Harrison Ford's and Jeff Bridges' characters, because it knew secrets about the government, and that Journey did the soundtrack, right? Maybe I'll watch it on an iPad for ultimate post-modern irony.

Anyway, Tron: Legacy is being released in December 2010, and Disney Consumer Products is releasing a small collection of super-sweet Tron-inspired couture accessories. Such as...
($795, Jerome C. Rousseau)
A silver, tiered, five-inch platform heel? YESSSS! GOD, YES!

($365, Tom Tom)
Mirrored lucite bracelet, guys. Seriously. Get into it.

... But the real business is Hayden-Harnett's Tron collection.

(Super User Cuff: $110; Master Control Cuff: $98; Clu Hobo Bag: $478; Quorra Sholder Handbag: $242; Byte Carryall: $129; Kaster Clutch: $478
If that's what space-future is like, then I want to go there. Not tomorrow, but yesterday.

Okay, finally check out this photo of a dog dressed like Tron for Halloween:

Wish List: Tiffany Lacquer Bracelets

I saw these Tiffany Elsa Peretti (one of Tiffany & Co.'s original jewelry designers) lacquer bangles at a Tiffany preview event a few months back, and I've had them on my mental wishlist since then. And then lo and behold, Natalie Portman style jacked me when she wore one to the premiere of "No Strings Attached" or "Friends Who Have Sex With Friends" or whatever that horrifying looking Ashton Kutcher movie is called.

($395, Tiffany)
Aren't they just gorgeous perfection? And they're a departure from the silver-heart-chain-bracelets that I usually think of when I think of Tiffany. I love the polished shine. And I'd especially love how the black one would look on my wrist! Right next to a blue one! Right next to an orange one!

Maison Martin Margiela Jewelry Is Making Me VERY ANGRY!

Because I LOVE it so much and can in no way shape or form justify purchasing it. DAMN YOU, Dina of Eye4Style for turning me onto MMM jewelry!

($215, Maison Martin Margiela, eLuxury.com)
I MAY bust out ye olde jewelin' tewls and see if I can craft something similar, though I'm pretty clueless when it comes to working with rhinestone strands. Weep! Can any of you crafty ladies out there make something similar?

($185, Maison Martin Margiela, eLuxury.com)
Lurves these Maison Martin Margiela paperclip earrings. 'Course, the recession-buster/ punk-as-fuck approach would be to just stick some regular paperclips in your ear and call it a night... and then call the doctor for a tetanus shot.

BAD Kitty!

($5,495, Judith Leiber)
Even if the economy were NOT in the shit pit, there'd still be no excuse to sink five and a half Grover Clevelands into this tacky cat box.

(Apprx $133 USD, Yumi Rose, HouseRocker.com)
Much less offensive in the cat-fashion department. And that boy cat in the middle must be the MACK, because those she-kitties looked STOKED.

($216, Kenneth Jay Lane, Queenbeegirls.com)
Even more subtle yet!

And because he is the ultimate Mack Katty, here's Rory/ AKA Roris/ AKA Rorsbard/ AKA Butterscat, cold lampin' on the bed:

Tell Me About It, Stud: Cuffs, Bracelets & Bangles

I so wuv/ want these studded and jeweled bracelets:

($80, Hayden-Harnett)
Best of the bunch. It doesn't have that annoying air of "OMG! I ALSO OWN A BLACK RAMONES T-SHIRT BECAUSE I VERY MUCH WOULD LIKE TO LOOK 'PUNK'" sorta look that I SOOO hate.

($22, Asos.com)
Love the brown-and-gold '70s color combo.

An enjoyable Donatella Versace vibe (about the only time you'll see the words "enjoyable" and "Donatella" used alongside each other in such harmony.)

($198, CC Skye, Boutiquetoyou.com)
I'm still uncertain whether this sucks or not. I definitely like their slimmer cuffs much better. Thoughts? Comment it.

($45, Shopintuition.com)
BTW, this is fucking terrible. As much as I love zeppolis, it looks like something you'd see for sale at the San Gennaro festival or something alongside those personalized airbrushed license plate covers or fiber optic light-up flashlight things. Horbs.

Okay, Sorry. Even More Peacock Accessories

Actually, fuck it. No apologies. An obsession's an obsession. More peacock and peacock-inspired jewelry and accessories:
($62, Listitcafe.com)
Pretty peacock vintage cloisonne bracelet with two purdy green glass bangles, all for $62. Good deal, no?

($26, Naughty Secretary Club)
A little literal, but fun in a bubbe way.

($75, Leila, Hautestar.com)
Absolutely love these (they're referred to as "peacock," for some reason, not sure why, but I'll take 'em!), and I wish I had a big-ass house with a whole room with wallpaper in this pattern.

And I'll take these:
($75, Leila, JacquelineJarrot.com)
I'd wear all six together. Well, at least four.

($110, Vita, JacquelineJarrot.com)
I'd definitely wear the peacock-blue and the yellow studded bracelets together.

($18, Elizabeth Normand, Etsy)
Cute, sweet little peacock feather hair clip. It'd look so sweet with your hair sort-of messy and half-up, you know? Just pluck it in there and go go go.

($465, Shultz, Morninggloryjewelry.com)
This Shultz Bakelite bangle is driving me up a wall with ravenous envy. Too bad it's bonkers expensive (though it looks like it's almost on the cheaper end for Shultz Bakelite). I still say you guys OWE IT TO ME for all that $ I'm saving you, right? Sigh. This is so the kind of bracelet I WISH I could find at a flea market for like $8. Swoonfromafar!

+ More peacock fashions aqui!

Quickie Jewelry Binge: Patricia Field For HSN (Seriously), All The Way Up to Vivre!

Jewelry I really really want, in order of expensieness!

OK, this I already own, but this and a handful of other Alex + Chloe pieces are now on sale. So you can own 'em! For less!

($39.95, Patricia Field for HSN)
It's probably for the best that the black version of this is sold out, because I'd have definitely bought it, and the last thing I need is more costume jewelry. And seriously, I would've bought it. It's glass and it's gorgeous. And seriously, I LOVE Patricia Field's HSN collection!

($39.95, Patricia Field for HSN)
Combining my love of pyramid studs with my love for orange things!

($48.75, Kiel Mead, Delight.com)
The reminder ringer = simple, refined, elegant, AND practical! AND crafty-cool sewing blogger Shira (aka In the Sky & On the Road) has one too!

($650, Patricia von Musulin, Vivre.com)
Hand-carved Lucite. Dying...

Leather Bridal Bracelets -- Because You Just Don't See Enough Of Those

($107, Littmack, Manjoh.com)
ZOMG I love these soft leather embroidered Littmarck bracelets. The grey one is wedding-able, no?

($55, Day Birger et Mikkelsen, Manjoh.com)
Also, speaking of Manjoh, uh, this Day Birger et Mikkelsen necklace is on cuckoo sale. Ahhh! #linebetweenwantsandneedssteadilyblurring

Crystal Jewelry I MUST Own...

A few sparkly, spangly little crystal "treasures," as Makeup Loves Me LOVES to refer to jewelry...

($573, Lanvin, Luisaviaroma.com)
Not in a MILLION minutes would I have ever thought I'd be sitting here attracted to jewelry featuring DENIM. But Lanvin done did it with this slightly '90s bracelet.

($475, Swarovski)
CAN. YOU. EVEN? C.Y.E. It's like wearing a crystal kaleidoscope on your NECK! And I NEED TO DO THAT.

($154, Martine Wester)
ADORING this gorgeous vintage-inspired mismatched crystal rosette bracelet, and I'm seriously considering getting it to wear with my Jenny Packham wedding dress, as long as it complements the jewels on the dress itself and doesn't snag the silk. Check out more of Martine Wester's pretty crystal pieces.

($262, Iosselliani, Bonadrag.com)
At first everyone was like OHHH WOOOH OMFG STACKABLE RINGS! IT'S THE SECOND MF-ING COMING OF HAYSOOS CHRISTO. And I was like Snoreaphyll. Truly, I didn't give a rat's ass about stackable rings. UNTIL... I came across these Iosselliani vintage-inspired stackable rings. And now I'm as TEAM STACKABLE RING as YOU are Team Edward! Rawr!
