Everything was gone by 8:45am. Yep, I was afraid that would happen. H&M's once in a lifetime Lanvin partnership collection came and went as soon as it hit select stores across the U.S on saturday morning. But it's no use crying over spilled clothing racks. Lanvin designer Alber Elbaz launched the entire collection in NYC to some very lucky and altogether fancy friends the other night, so let's take a longing look at the gorgeous collection as it was before it was all snatched up...

Ooh! Yay! An H&M Cat Shirt! + Grauituous Cat Photo!

It is NO secret that FashionBinge LOVES a cat shirt. This one's coming to H&M. Fun, right? But not as fun as my (and Beauty Blogging Junkie's) cat, who put herself in this box all by herself!

LANVIN for H&M
Yes it's true! H&M is teaming up with luxury label LANVIN for a luxe Fall collaboration due to hit stores on November 20th. Can you imagine the massive dust cloud, in the wake of lonely and empty racks, after every single LANVIN item is snatched up?

H&M Destroys, Dumps, Doesn't Donate Clothes That Don't Sell

And a happy new year to you too! A particularly vile story from The New York Times: The 34th Street Herald Square H&M has been intentionally destroying and dumping clothes that don't sell -- destroying perfectly good winter coats, jackets, and more warm stuff, so that the clothing can't be worn. Instead of donating the clothing to the countless New Yorkers (or people worldwide) who are freezing. The irony -- directly below that H&M is a train station where COLD HOMELESS PEOPLE ARE LIVING. Why? Because unfortunately it's not hard to find homeless people in New York. HOW is H&M not donating these warm winter items?
The story is currently trending on Twitter, so hopefully that instant spreading of information, as well as the gravity of the initial Times story will be a wake-up call for H&M and encourage them to take some kind of retroactive responsibility -- donating a substantial amount of money and clothing to a local and/or national homeless organization or outreach center like New York Cares.

Lanvin For H&M Coming This Fall!

Dude, Lanvin's H&M collection has me just about Kanye West-levels of excited. Lanvin's Alber Elbaz, and menswear designer Lucas Ossendrijver H&M collection will go on sale in around 200 H&M stores on November 20th in North America and November 23rd in the rest of the world.
Lanvin for H&M will include womenswear and menswear and will be revealed November 2.
Something tells me this will be EVEN BETTER than Madonna's H&M collection! < / sarcasm>

Marimekko For H&M! Behold! Rejoice!
From IG Trendcentral:
"Launching this April, Finnish textile company Marimekko is partnering with H&M to do a collection for women and children that will include tunics, dresses, hats, and bags in their signature striking prints. We’re hoping their classic tulip patterns will make an appearance."
Now THAT I might stand in line for and risk mass stampeding!

Roberto Cavalli For H&M: PANDEMONIUM AND PANIC In NYC
I'm not a morning person in any way shape or form, whatsoever. Ever-ever ever. So not even 18 alarm clocks, my cat walking across my face and a pack of wild horses could rouse me at the ungodly hour of whatever time I'd have had to have gotten up to make it to the 8AM press call for the launch of Roberto Cavalli for H&M at the chain's 5th Avenue flagship location here in New York.
Seriously, not even if they'd have given me a key to the store and the green light to clear the place out on their dime, I still doubt I'd have made it. And from the looks of this video footage of the mayhem of the line's launch in Amsterdam, I'm quite glad:
Doesn't this remind you of waaaay back in the day when people got trampled to death at Toys R Us trying to get their consumption-happy hot little hands on new Cabbage Patch Kid Dolls to give their bratty kids for Christmas? (My mom gave us a fake, ghetto-fab off-brand Cabbage Patch Kid, for which I thank her -- this was just the beginning of me learning the value of a good knock-off!)
Check out the rather horrifying fashionista-on-a-budget bloodbath at Style Crunch, while Catwalk Queen details the mayhem in the UK. Oy. See, I had braces for many years and value the money my parents spent on my orthodontia too much to risk getting my teeth out over a $20 serpentine bracelet:

(Which is currently going for three times its price on eBay.)
The H&M blog (what?) has lots more footage of INSANE people who got there at 7p.m. THE.FUCKING.NIGHT.BEFORE, plus pix of Cavalli himself and model Jessica Stam, who also showed up (again, exciting, but not exciting enough to merit waking up at like 5).
I think the best part of this story is the part that has nothing to do with the story -- Roberto (we're on a FNB -- first-name basis -- you know), dressed up as Karl Lagerfeld for Halloween. Ha!
Anyway, did any of you faithful F.'Bingers go?

Is H&M TRYING To Give You A Yeastie?
This is a new bathing suit -- well, in most places in the universe, this would be considered a bathing suit, but unfortunately, insome parts of, say, New York City, this, and a pair of heels or cowboy boots are considered a "going-out outfit"-- from H&M's Divided Exclusive line coming out this September is probably made out of nylon and should come with a prescription for Diflucan. Just sayin'.

Matthew Williamson For H&M Is Like ALL PEACOCKS, ALL THE TIME!
BLAST AND DAMN! Matthew Williamson's H&M collection, which hits stores RIGHT THIS FUCKING MINUTE is ALL FUCKING PEACOCKS, practically!!! (And you KNOW how I feel about PEACOCKS!)
The collection is in 200 H&M stores worldwide including these three NYC H&M locations, which are accordingly mobbed.

You've seen Matthew Williamson's peacock dress on Katy Perry, and, for better or for worse, Nicky Hilton.

That peacock clutch alone is making me cry real little-girl tears out of grown-up eyes. As is the tiger-print dress below. Weeps of a million.

You Down With CDG? Comme des Garçons To Collab With H&M
Yay! Comme des Garçons designer Rei Kawakubo is on deck to collaborate with H&M for the store's guest designer collection this fall. The first wave will hit Tokyo in early November, followed by the rest of the markets later that week.
Kawakubo will design a women's and men's collection, with a few pieces for the kiddies too, in addition to accessories and an exclusive unisex fragrance.
Mas news as it's released.
** Also, soooo sorry for the lack of postage. I've been buried under a mound of Kleenex with the most vile sinus infection evah. Worst. Not worst: a fun contest coming soon

I WENT TO TOPSHOP, YOU GUISE! YOU GUISE I WENT TO TOPSHOP!

YOU GUYS I WENT I WENT I WENT! It wasn't a dream, it was a reality. Not only did I STEP FOOT into the 25,000-square foot emporium of sparkly, fringed, multi-tiered British shopping nirvana. I came, I saw, I tried stuff on, and, upon realizing that the prices were more Barney's Coop Warehouse clearance rack than H&M, I put about half of it back. Seriously, the average price of everything I looked seemed to be around $70. Per item. Seriously.
I did end up splurging and getting three items, mostly, I think due to the fact that I was on a total Topshop high after waiting for YEARS. I mean, I bought a lot of Topshop stuff when I was in the UK the other year, but it's all fun and games when you're on high on vacation, and foreign currency feels like funny money (look at all the funny colors and the weird people on the smaller, wider bills! Tee!), but, unlike H&M where you can roll out with a packed shopping bag for under $100, plan on walking out with MAYBE one choice item for $100 if you're a budget (and the Binge is generally on a budget).
That said, here are the three things I did buy:
Again, not cheap, but it is 100% silk, and it fit PERFECTLY.
($90, Topshop)
($135, Topshop)
I couldn't resist these ridiculously '80s acid-washed skinny jeans. I love the pleating on the side. Why not?
These ridiculous patent platforms were fun... to look at... but seriously, they were about 17 inches high. Like, it hurt my neck just like looking up at a heel that high. They'd be perfect if they were about NINE INCHES shorter.
Things at Topshop I Didn't Really Understand:
Things at Topshop I Didn't Really Understand:
This silk bomber is cute if you're Katy Perry and you're, like, recreating a scene in A League Of their Own. But chances are, you're not.
($510, Topshop)
Suede leggings. For FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS. AMERICAN. !?!?!?!?!?!!? What... The... SHIT?
This grey suede skirt's cool, but for $410? You could easily find something WAY cheaper on eBay or at a thrift store.
($44, Topshop)

Um, $44 for THIS screenprinted piece of chara? (And it WAS chara in person.) Sad face.
Anyway, will I go back to Topshop? Not until the hysteria dies down. After that? DUH! Of course I will! But again, the prices felt like they were converted directly from their British equivalent. Therefore most of us "regular folks" definitely won't experience the bag-filling glory of H&M. Instead, you'll probably walk out with one or two choice pieces, but hopefully they'll be Topshop treasures.
