The Naked Dress

Okay, so I'm not quite finished gushing over Stella McCartney's S/S 09 collection so you'll just have to go through another post about her and her designs. More specifically one certain design. I am talking about "the naked dress" worn by model Lara Stone on the catwalk. The nude colour of the dress creates a skin-on-skin effect, that (when done right) is nearly too hot to handle. And Stella McCartney definitely gets 10 out of 10 points for this dress! I love the combination of the off-the-shoulders, slouchy top half, to the short, but still not too short, body-gripping bottom half. It's also nice the way Lara Stone has her hair pulled back tightly, that her make-up is clean and fresh, and that the accessories and shoes are kept simple. This defintely screams sex on legs!

When it comes to this dress, my thoughts instantly flew to Carrie's famous naked dress that she wore on her first date with Mr. Big in season 1. And we all know what Carrie and Big ended up doing that evening. It might be easy for some to compare the naked dress to a slutty dress, but I am not one of them. I actually think that in addition to the LBD every woman should have hanging in her wardrobe, every woman should also have a naked dress. Knowing your body, and knowing the fine line between sexy and slutty will get you a long way when it comes to having the confidence to wear and pull off this type of dress. So take some tips from Stella and Carrie, and don't be afraid to show what you've got!

Who do think has the best "naked dress", Stella or Carrie? And do have the fashion courage to wear a dress like this?

get waisted with roger...

WARNING: if you haven't seen the Sex & the City movie yet and don't want to see some of the outfits that are seen in it, then you should not keep on reading.

In a recent interview with Nylon Magazine, Patricia Field told the readers some SATC behind-the-scenes information: "Sarah had a vintage studded belt she really liked, she named it Roger...and she would always say "Pat, get me Roger!" And I was like, "Carrie Bradshaw can't wear the same belt with every outfit!"

Looking at some photos from the SATC movie of Carrie Bradshaw's style, I spotted a certain someone-someone quite often. Aha! You guessed it..it's Roger! And he is pretty darn fine. He can work every outfit; from the everyday jeans and t-shirt look to the most fabulous ball gown. I must admit that I have fallen a little bit in love with this very gorgeous gentleman.

Pat Field continued talking about belts to Nylon Mangazine, and about how she thinks they will become the new big thing: "I think belts are going to keep being very big. I like what a belt does to the of a woman. It's like, okay girls, pull it in!"

So take Pat Field's advice and next time you're out shopping, don't forget to look out for your very own Roger. He can make your outfit look a hundred times better and unique.

Will You Be "Carried Away"?

Counting down the days till 30th of May? Can't wait to see Carrie, Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte appear on the big screen? Well, I sure do belong to that group (and I know I'm not alone), and I will always and forever reamain a hardcore Sex & The City fan. There's no cure for it.

At first glance, I fell in love with the SATC movie poster, but looking more closely at it, I'm beginning to have second thoughts. It's a bit too flashy..a bit too Las Vegas for my taste..but hey, whatever floats your boat..right? And also, where are the other three? Shouldn't we also be honoured by their presence on the poster?

But I'm not going to be that harsh, it's pink and girly and Carrie is wearing a BEAUTIFUL dress...so no damage done ! I'm still a SATC addict.

What's your take on the poster? Do you feel "carried away"?
